Terms & Conditions
By submitting or supporting a nomination for the Asia Pacific Craft Masters Awards (“the Awards”), the nominator and candidate agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Eligibility of Candidates
1.1. The Awards are open to living artisans and artists who have committed their working lives to excellence in their chosen craft practice.
1.2. Candidates must meet the minimum experience requirements for the relevant award category:
1.2.1. Craft Master - Minimum of 20 years professional practice.
1.2.2. Honourable Craft Master - Minimum of 40 years professional practice.
1.3. Years of professional practice are counted from the point at which the artisan begins working independently in their craft. Early years of learning, apprenticeship, or training are not included.
1.4. Candidates must be residents of, or primarily practice within, the Asia Pacific region.
1.5. Candidates must be nominated by an individual or organisation operating within the Asia Pacific Region. Self-nominations are not permitted, although a candidate may approach a potential nominator to request consideration.
1.6. Each nomination must be seconded by an APCA member.
1.7. Candidates must consent to being nominated and agree to provide supporting materials required for assessment.
1.8. Employees, Board members, jurors, and immediate family members of jurors involved in the Awards process are not eligible for nomination during the same award cycle.
2. Nomination Requirements
2.1. All nomination materials must be submitted in English unless otherwise approved by the relevant regional committee, which will then be responsible for translation to English.
2.2. The nominator is responsible for ensuring that:
2.2.1. All information provided is accurate and complete;
2.2.2. The candidate has granted permission for submission of their materials;
2.2.3. All required supporting documentation is included by the stated deadline.
2.3. Incomplete or late submissions may be deemed ineligible at the discretion of APCA.
2.4. APCA reserves the right to verify any information provided in the nomination.
3. Supporting Materials
3.1. Supporting materials may include but are not limited to:
3.1.1. Portrait photographs of the candidate;
3.1.2. Images of craft works;
3.1.3. Video recordings of the candidate working or explaining their practice;
3.1.4. Curriculum vitae
3.1.5. Written statements addressing the selection criteria.
3.2. All submitted materials must be the original work of the candidate or used with full permission of the copyright holder.
3.3. The nominator confirms that all necessary permissions and releases have been obtained from the candidate and any other rights holders featured in the materials.
4. Use of Images, Video and Promotional Material
4.1. By accepting nomination, the candidate grants the Asia Pacific Crafts Alliance a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, publish, adapt and distribute submitted images, videos and written materials for non-commercial purposes of:
4.1.1. Promotion and marketing of the Awards;
4.1.2. Education and advocacy for craft practices;
4.1.3. APCA publications (print and digital);
4.1.4. Websites and social media platforms;
4.1.5. Exhibitions, presentations and events related to the Awards.
4.2. This licence includes the right to edit or format materials for design, layout and communication purposes, while maintaining the integrity of the work and appropriate credit to the candidate.
4.3. Materials will not be used for commercial resale without the candidate’s further written consent.
4.4. APCA will make reasonable efforts to credit the candidate and/or photographer or videographer where such information is supplied.
4.5. Candidates retain full copyright and moral rights over their submitted works.
5. Consent and Privacy
5.1. Candidates consent to their name, biography, images and professional achievements being made public in connection with the Awards.
5.2. Personal information will be used solely for the administration and promotion of the Awards in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.
5.3. APCA will not share personal contact details with third parties without consent, except where required for Award administration.
6. Assessment and Decisions
6.1. All nominations will be assessed by independent regional juries using the official APCA assessment criteria.
6.2. Decisions of the juries and APCA Board are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding outcomes.
6.3. APCA reserves the right to:
6.3.1. Withhold an award if no nomination meets the required standard;
6.3.2. Reclassify an award category where appropriate.
7. International Awards Eligibility
7.1. All Regional Award recipients automatically become eligible for consideration for the International Asia Pacific Region Craft Masters Awards.
7.2. Additional materials may be requested for international assessment.
8. Intellectual Property and Warranties
8.1. The nominator warrants that:
8.1.1. The submitted materials do not infringe any third-party rights;
8.1.2. They have obtained informed consent from the candidate for all uses described in these Terms and Conditions.
8.2. APCA accepts no responsibility for disputes arising from inaccurate or unauthorised submissions.
9. Withdrawal of Nomination
9.1. A candidate may withdraw their nomination by written notice to APCA prior to the commencement of jury assessment.
9.2. Materials already published or used for promotional purposes prior to withdrawal may continue to be used in archival records of the Awards.
10. Acceptance of Terms
10.1. Submission of a nomination form constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by both the nominator and the candidate.
10.2. APCA reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time, with updated versions published in official Award documentation and on their website.
