Nelson Jewellery Week (NJW) is Aotearoa New Zealand’s premier biennial event dedicated to contemporary jewellery.
NJW celebrates and supports contemporary makers who push the boundaries of object and jewellery making through experimental exhibitions, rigorous workshops, artist talks, and collaborative public events.
In 2027 NJW considers EXCHANGE, which positions jewellery as a site of encounter between maker and wearer, material and meaning, individual and community. EXCHANGE can explore the circulation of ideas, identity, and collaboration, emphasising jewellery as a relational practice. It invites artists to consider what is given, received, transformed or shared through contemporary jewellery.
