5th - 31st May 2026
16 Archive (16 Akaiv) is hosting the group exhibition by the metalcraft group ‘TOOL’ for four weeks. This exhibition is structured around the theme of "Thursday’s Objects," with 44 artists participating over four weeks to form a single exhibition.
Amidst the repetitive flow of daily life, Thursday is a time of subtle gaps situated between routine and deviation. ‘Thursday’s Objects’ reveals this sensation through craft objects and explores the point where function and contemplation intersect. The composition and relationships of the exhibited works change week by week, taking on a fluid form rather than a fixed scene. The objects placed in the exhibition space operate in unfamiliar ways while grounded in the context of daily life, repeating a cycle of contact and distancing within the viewer's senses and experiences. In this process, the objects do not remain merely as simple entities but form meaning within their relationship with the user, revealing distinct sensations and states. The differences and tensions arising from these relationships evoke a sense of everyday life, prompting us to re-examine the daily routines and their boundaries that we have come to perceive as familiar.
