ASEPHI Does It Again! A Resounding Success at Road to Inacraft 2026
Just six months after the mega Inacraft Festival in Jakarta this past February, they have successfully delivered another outstanding event.

The Road to Inacraft Festival took place from July 14 to 19, 2026, at the Jogya Expo Center. However, the journey truly began a day earlier. At 8:50am, delegates boarded a luxury train at Gambir Railway Station in Jakarta, bound for Yogyakarta. After a scenic 6 hours journey, we arrived at Tugu Station to a rousing welcome by an Edan-Edanan dance performance, a lively traditional folk dance from Jogjakarta known for its expressive make-up, energetic movements, and playful interaction with the audience. The performance created a festive atmosphere while offering guests a warm introduction to Jogjakarta's rich cultural heritage.
Upon arrival, each delegate was personally greeted by Pak Dr. H. Muchsin Ridjan, SE., MM. Chairman of ASEPHI. Gentlemen were presented with a traditional Javanese cap known as a Blangkon, while ladies received exquisite, hand-made batik scarves.
The Yogyakarta edition of Road to Inacraft featured a total of 255 stalls, showcasing an impressive array of artisan products. Exhibits ranged from traditional hand-printed batiks to contemporary, recycled hand-woven denim jeans, as well as eco-leaf print textiles for soft furnishings and aromatherapy products for well-being. The fair also highlighted a diverse range of crafts utilizing materials such as leather, wood carvings, shells, natural fibers, and gold and silver jewellery.
Reaching beyond the shores of Indonesia, the international section featured crafts from across Southeast Asia, courtesy of AHPADA (ASEAN Handicraft Promotion and Development Association). Visitors could explore hand-woven silks and textiles from Cambodia, unique products from Sarawak, East Malaysia, and traditional crafts from Uzbekistan.
Beyond providing makers and producers with a platform to market their wares, Road to Inacraft 2026 featured a special exhibition highlighting the genesis and evolution of batik, alongside stunning masterpieces.
At APCA’s booth, we highlighted the works of Pak Rudy Hendriatno a contemporary wood artisan based in Yogyakarta. His intriguing pieces naturally draw people in, encouraging audiences to actively participate, as his works are ingeniously engineered to be kinetically engaging. APCA’s booth was also graced by HRH Queen Gusti Kanjeng Bendara Raden Ayu Adipati Paku Alam of the Kadipaten of Pakualaman who came to view Pak Rudy’s works and was briefed on APCA’s mission.
Importantly, APCA also officially launched the Craft Masters Programme and hosted a dedicated training session on the nomination process. Chairperson, Jude van der Merwe, expounded on the merits and benefits of the programme, while Secretary General, Dr Joseph Lo, elaborated on the specific requirements and criteria. The session concluded with a brief Q&A to clarify any points not already addressed in the website’s FAQ.
The true highlight of the event was a group photo taken with ASEPHI leadership, APCA delegates, galleries representative, and artisans to commemorate the occasion - a perfect reflection of the enduring friendships and strong bonds between ASEPHI and APCA.
