Applications close 11th January 2027
Nelson Jewellery Week (NJW) is seeking jewellery and object makers to exhibit projects in a range of venues throughout Whakatū. A selection process matches projects with galleries, retail spaces, and windows.
In 2027 NJW considers EXCHANGE, which positions jewellery as a site of encounter between maker and wearer, material and meaning, individual and community. EXCHANGE can explore the circulation of ideas, identity, and collaboration, emphasising jewellery as a relational practice. It invites artists to consider what is given, received, transformed or shared through contemporary jewellery.
Work will be selected by Caroline Billing, Director of The National in Christchurch, and Whakatū multidisciplinary artist Josephine Cachemaille.
Preference will be given to projects not previously exhibited in Aotearoa.
Proposals are made through Eventotron. Submit your applications for exhibitions, workshops or special events through their website. Application fees apply.
