About the Prize
Initiated by the World Crafts Council (WCC), the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), and the Jingdezhen Creative Design Center, the 2025 Jingdezhen Prize is launched to enhance Jingdezhen's international presence. The event aims to create a high-level platform for the global exchange and cooperation in ceramic innovation, engaging artists, collectors, designers, museums, and art lovers worldwide. Over time, we aspire to turn the Jingdezhen Prize into a global industry benchmark. This event not only pays homage to ceramic art creations and the heritage of ceramic crafts, but also promotes the future development of handicraft art.
The Jingdezhen Prize is dedicated to recognizing outstanding works that blend artistic vision with innovative spirit, preserve exquisite ceramic crafts, and demonstrate unique creative language. It encourages creators to reinterpret ceramic art traditions through a contemporary lens and promotes the integration of ceramic crafts into a cross-cultural context for more breakthroughs, highlighting the important role of ceramic art in today's cultural landscape.
The 2025 Jingdezhen Prize attracted a total of 1,325 submissions from 55 countries and regions spanning six continents globally. A jury consisting of 19 experts and scholars conducted an anonymous review, ultimately selecting 41 shortlisted works while rigorously upholding academic standards and ensuring procedural fairness. Centered around these shortlisted works, the exhibition titled "Star Atlas & Voyage Routes: Opening Exhibition of Taoxichuan International Craft Art Museum & Launch Exhibition of the World Craft Art Star Atlas Project" successfully opened on October 17, 2025.
